Urea is officially listed as a legal inspection product

The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China published official announcement that, from October 15, 2021, including Urea, 29 customs commodity codes involving the fertilizers will be added to the customs supervision condition “B”, and the customs will implement export commodity inspections on related commodities.
Authorities at northern ports, which are the main outlets for urea export shipments, are understood to have either restricted or stopped fertilizer deliveries to port days before official announcement published. These include the ports of Hebei, Qingdao, Tianjin and Yantai. The seaport ports of Huanghua and Qinhuangdao are reportedly to have halted fertilizer exports so far.
It is understood that urea exports to India following awards totalling 729,500t under the RCF 1 October tender, in which 13 of the 14 lots are to be sourced from China, are not likely to be impacted by the new measures, as most cargoes have now cleared customs. However, cargoes loaded after 20 October could face issues, say trading sources.
